Flashpoint Academy

In this episode, I’m chatting with the folks of Flashpoint Academy, a two-year vocational school in Chicago offering intense, hands-on education in four areas: Game Development, Film & Broadcast, Recording Arts, and Visual Effects & Animation.

After touring the amazing facilities at Flashpoint Academy, I was in awe at the amazing opportunities students have there to really get involved in their passion to create and learn. The thing that most people seem to say after visiting Flashpoint is “I wish they had this place when I was in school!” I was no exception, of course :)

    Nice job on the video. I am currently a Recording Arts student at Flashpoint and love it. I am actually a little older than the average student there, but your never too old to point yourself in the right direction. I'll be graduating in May and am looking forward to getting out there and putting this great education to work!
  • @David - I know the sort of commercials you're talking about and trust me, Flashpoint is not like that at all. This is a school focused 100% on letting students develop their skills in the four disciplines they offer - and they have the facilities and contacts to make it happen. Thanks for watching David!
  • Really interesting stuff. I always see commercials for these schools that are supposed to "teach you how to build video games" and what not but they always seem like BS. This looks like the real deal! Love the video Tim. Looks great.

  • @Tim - Same thing happened to me. I had heard about them when they first opened 2 years ago and knew a bit about the idea behind it, but never really learned any more about it. The school is definitely a place you wish you had attended once you walk around a bit. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!

    Nice job on the video...I've heard of Flashpoint a number of times, but never really knew what they were about so this has been pretty informative. As someone who went to school "a while ago" and learned to edit video using 3/4" tape, the school sounds pretty cool.
