In this episode, I’m chatting with Jason Fried and Michael Berger of 37signals, the Chicago based firm that develops popular web based software products Basecamp and Highrise.

I used my awesome Gorillapod for this interview (seen in the photo below). If you’re looking for a lightweight, extremely flexible tripod for your digital camera or Flip camera, check out the Gorillapod. Seriously. I honestly don’t know how I shot these interviews before without the Gorillapod. People always laugh because I’m putting it on poles, chairs, walls, everywhere!

The music featured during the intro and credits of this episode is a song called “File Under: Ground (Take Me In)” from local Chicago band The Fold.

As always, you give us beautiful shots, great music ; editing and interesting content.
    Keep a' goin'!
  • Thanks - nice video. It's always great to hear more about 37signals because they actively consider what type of company they are, and how that relates to their values. They even take the extra step of sharing their thoughts on this so that other business manager can benefit from their experience.

It's also refreshing to hear Jason's thoughts on scale... that there is nothing wrong with slowly growing a nice businesses that grows only when it needs to and focused on putting out great products for specific tasks - not turning "viral" and losing their focus.

    Have a great day.

37signals indeed does some great work and so does Lakeshore! Glad to have you both on the show :)

    Brad -
I LOVE the Gorillapod! I'm constantly telling people how much they rock. Definitely recommend getting one. They have all sorts of sizes for everything from a Flip cam up to a DVX.

Like the use of the Gorillapod, hope to get one of them for Christmas this yeah.
  • Great Video, Jason Fried does an excellent job at 37 signals. I hope that one day my company can experience the same successes that Jason has experienced.
